A Change of Heart Campaign
Be The Change You Wish For
The University of Kansas Hospital is proud to share with the community an awareness campaign designed to increase awareness of women's risk for heart disease. The campaign called, A Change of Heart, focuses on three important factors. First, be knowledgeable about your risk for heart disease, second, have a heart health assessment so that you know your baseline risk for heart disease, and third, become an advocate for heart health by sharing this message with your friends and family. Together, we can improve awareness and inspire change.
Raising Awareness Through Knowledge
Although heart disease is the number one killer of women, more than half of women in the US are not aware of their risks. In fact, the American Heart Association ranks Kansas City 28 out of 38 metropolitan areas for heart health. We need to improve.
Through a heart health assessment, women will learn about their heart health and how to make lifestyle changes that can reduce their risk for heart disease. After taking the heart health assessment, inspire others to do the same. Sharing the knowledge you have gained will inspire others to have their own change of heart. Together we can improve our community's heart health.
Message To Women Business Owners
Business and civic leader across the area are committing to building awareness of heart disease. As a community leader, you are a powerful catalyst, able to inspire and create action among your friends, colleagues and employees. Your influence touches every aspect of political, social and economic life in our community. And, you understand the benefits of teaching by example and enabling change.
Share your vision to recognize that creating a healthy environment today is the best gift we can give to our children. Schedule a Heart Health Assessment, and invite your women friends and employees to take control of their heart by doing the same.
